Why do companies love to put black borders around their screens?
Whether its a monitor, tv, or cell phone screen they always have black borders around the screen. Like the g1, it has a physical big border around the screen and then if you look really closely theres another tiny one right inside the screen. Is this needed or do the companies just want to give you as little room as possible? And when they say how big the screens are like 3.5 inch or whatever, do they count the borders?
It’s the TFT/LCD panel maker characteristics, they do not meant to make the screen smaller than you buy, its only a standard for manufacturing process, when you buy 320×240 LCD panel, you’ll get this exactly, because if it’s not 320×240 size the image on screen will displayed cropped
