is the air inside a slot port part of the volume of the chamber on A subwoofer enclosure?

Ok i understand that the wood that forms the vent takes away from the volume of the chamber but what about the air within the vent slots… is that part of the box’s volume? or does it subtract from the overall volume of the box

The internal volume of the enclosure is not going to include the port (or any of the air inside it), the sub displacement, or any bracing in the enclosure. It is simply the air inside the enclosure itself.
